Overview
The Sword of the Watch is named in the public record as the foremost relic of Erathe — a blade forged by the Bhre-Nora, craftsmen to the Creator, and bestowed in the garden of the Third Domain. Chronicles remember a mirrored steel edge with glyphs running the length of the blade — marks no ordinary eye can read — and workmanship beyond any weapon of mortal smiths.
The Case
Public accounts describe an ornate tiger's-eye maple case with mother-of-pearl sword inlay and painted ruby flame ringlets. Within that case the blade first returned to the Black Mountains with Evliit of Arentis, later named Sword Bearer in the chronicles of the Watch.
Charge of the Bearer
The Archives preserve the charge spoken over the sword: defend the weak, battle evil, and guide mankind toward union with the Creator. Evliit of Arentis is named as the bearer of this age. What contests followed that naming remain sealed.
Prophecy
A line from the Well of Kings is remembered in public teaching: in their darkest hours, a sword bearer will hail from the land of Harot. The Sword of the Watch stands as the relic that teaching names.
