Overview
The Northern Plains stretch across a broad expanse of Erathe between the Faceless Mountains, the Black Mountains, Calarph, and the northern lands of Broeden. The region is known for open horizons, rolling grasslands, and its importance as a travel corridor between major realms.
Geography
Much of the region consists of open prairie, seasonal grasslands, and gently rolling terrain. During warmer months the plains support large herds and migrating wildlife, while winter winds can sweep across the landscape with tremendous force.
Roads and Trade
The plains serve as one of the primary overland routes linking Rion, the Black Mountains, Moonledge Peak, Calarph, and the northern frontier. Merchants, pilgrims, scouts, and armies alike have crossed these open lands for generations.
Role in the Watchers' War
The Northern Plains became a gathering ground of the Watchers' War. Evliit, Mategaladh, and Tophian crossed the region while uniting Watchers and coordinating allies for the northward war against Durageim. Public records name the mustering. What followed remains sealed.
The Great Mustering
Following the confirmation of Evliit's role as Sword Bearer, warriors from Rion, the Watchers, Spellmakers, and allied settlements assembled upon the Northern Plains before marching north. Few regions in Erathe have witnessed such a concentration of military strength.
