Overview
An Aramandhi is not a species but a chosen Camon offered as the living vessel for the Naroomaeth. The individual ceases to exist should the transformation succeed. The title carries immense spiritual and cultural weight among those influenced by Amphileph's teachings.
The Naroomaeth
The Naroomaeth is the forbidden transformation rite that combines celestial alignment, Arcula-Naroom blood, and an Aramandhi sacrifice in an attempt to create an Angrodha. The Aramandhi serves as both participant and offering. Success destroys the original individual entirely.
Selection
Those chosen as Aramandhi are often regarded with a mixture of fear, reverence, and pity. They are expected to surrender their lives willingly in service to Amphileph's vision. Within extremist traditions, selection may be viewed as the highest honor available to a warrior.
Failure and Survival
The most tragic outcome occurs when the Naroomaeth fails but the Aramandhi survives. Such individuals are viewed as rejected offerings. They are considered neither successful sacrifices nor honored dead.
Traditionally, surviving Aramandhi face two fates:
