Origins
The origins of the Watch stretch back to the earliest eras of recorded history. Surviving traditions describe the Watch as an order created to serve mankind and protect the world from the return of great evils.
Purpose
The Watch exists to protect the innocent, preserve knowledge, guard ancient traditions, oppose threats to civilization, and serve the Creator.
Structure
The Watch traditionally maintains monasteries, libraries, archives, outposts, and centers of learning throughout Erathe.
Relationship with Rion
The Watch maintains a longstanding relationship with Rion and the Elders of that city. While the Watch and the Rion Guard serve different functions, both trace much of their philosophy to the same traditions.
Reputation
Across Erathe, the Watch is viewed as a symbol of duty, wisdom, self-sacrifice, and endurance.
