Southwood

Western Forest Realm • Coastal Woodlands of Blue Water

A vast coastal woodland where ancient forests, quiet rivers, and hidden lives endure far from the wars of the north.

Southwood

Overview

Southwood is one of the great forest regions of Erathe. Towering trees, secluded valleys, and isolated homesteads lie far from the courts and camps of the north. Armies do not like it. The woods are too deep, the paths too few, and the sea too close.

Geography

Dense woodlands dominate the region, broken by rivers, hidden meadows, and small coastal clearings. The forests stretch for great distances and are difficult for large armies to navigate. Travelers speak of a country where a man may walk for days and see more deer than hearths.

The Seaside Forest

Near the western shores of Blue Water, Southwood contains beautiful coastal forests and white-sand beaches. The region offers striking scenery where sea cliffs, woodland paths, and ocean winds meet in one of the most picturesque locations in Erathe.

Isolated Country

Homesteads in Southwood are few and far apart. The Archivists note rumors of gardens kept in deep clearings, and of folk who chose the trees over the road. Those lives are not yet released for public circulation.
