Overview
Harot was one of the roughest towns in Erathe. Situated near the western frontier and the approaches to the Black Mountains, it attracted merchants, adventurers, laborers, thieves, drifters, and fortune seekers from every corner of the known world.
Reputation
Harot was widely regarded as one of the most lawless settlements in Erathe. Wealth and survival often depended on wit, strength, and luck rather than formal authority. Taverns, markets, traders, and transient populations gave the city a reputation for both opportunity and danger.
The Soru Trade
Harot's economy was heavily influenced by the trade of Soru, a valuable plant prized by healers, alchemists, and mystics. Its proximity to the Black Mountains made the city a major destination for those seeking to harvest and sell the rare herb.
Evliit
Public records place Evliit's early life in Harot's streets. He is named among those who drank at the Marker Tavern, and among those who knew Jenna there. What the war later made of that beginning is held in the Restricted Archives.
